I'm going with the Lusby layout for my house - found here on the Tumbleweed house website.

In the backroom (third photo above) I plan to build myself a wall-bed of sorts like the one show above.

What's great about this is that it allows me to entertain as well as give me the ability to sleep on the same floor as the bathroom - eliminating that middle of the night crawl down the ladder. May seem like a small thing - but it makes me happy.

The on-demand, tankless, propane powered water heater will also live under one half of the couch/bed - and the other half will be storage for bedding, etc.

This afternoon I attended a baby shower for my good friend, who is living in a very small house (a mother-in-law type unit) in yet another friend's back yard. She had the most amazing shelving type structure that created a stairway effect - PLUS it had one shelf that was actually a table top when you pulled it out. I'm going to do some "noodling" and decide if this might be a great thing for me too.
